Timeline

There are a number of important points on the timeline toward the Cape Cod 2020 Symposium. The first is the Sept. 6, 2018 deadline for essay proposals.

    • Summer 2018: Call for Essays
    • September 2018: Deadline for essay proposers to submit a proposal—two pages describing the topic and the emphases proposed in the essay
    • December 2018: Selection of essay proposals and notification of all essay proposers
  • 2019
    • September 2019: Due date for first drafts of historical essays; length of each essay will be 10-12 double-spaced pages plus bibliographic references and illustrations
    • Fall 2019: Editing of essays; editing to be done by a panel of historical society members
  • 2020
    • January 2020: Final copies of essays
    • Winter/Spring 2020 – Outreach and ticket sales
    • April 2020: Printed production of essays as a Special Issue of the Journal of the Cape Cod Genealogical Society
    • May 16, 2020: Symposium; sales of paper-bound volume of essay
    • Fall 2020: continuing sales of Symposium papers volume; exploration of book form for publication
